Gay weddings on Maui are very special… but let’s admit it – spending a gay vacation on Maui is incredibly special in itself!
Maui offers gay couples the opportunity to be themselves without that feeling of hiding. There are many beaches on Maui where gay couples can stroll along at sunset, hand in hand, and enjoy the romantic ambiance of the sun setting into the Pacific Ocean while snuggling the one you love. Maui is a very gay friendly Hawaiian Island and for that we are grateful.
We get asked a lot, “What are gay places or gay things to do on Maui?” When you Google for gay places in Maui you will typically find a lot of references to Little Beach. Little Beach is a beach accessible by climbing over a lava rock wall from Big Beach. Although nudity is not legal in Hawaii, the seclusion of Little Beach has made that beach the most popular nudist beach on Maui. Because this beach is more accepting of folks from all walks of life, the gay community is also represented and hence it has become known as one of the “gay hangouts on Maui”.
There is also a nightclub in “the Triangle” – a section of Kihei in South Maui that caters to the gay community. It is called Ambrosias and is located across from Kalama Park (not a park you will want to hang out in after the sun sets). This bar brings in gays, lesbians and gay friendly folks and is your stereotypical “gay bar” feel. The bartenders are awesome and they often offer live music of all genres.
We spend almost every day performing weddings or doing photo shoots so obviously that is our passion. We pride ourselves in providing personalized ceremonies – from the romantic details specific to your relationship to hand-picking the most spectacular beach to fit your needs. We get to know you ahead of time so we know exactly what is important to you.
We really want you both to feel comfortable, whether it is just the two of you or 50 of your closest friends and family.
We offer not only intimate gay beach weddings, but also receptions, formal affairs and special additions like dove releases, Native Hawaiian blessings and Hawaiian hula & ukulele and Tahitian dancers & drummers. Our goal is to create a memorable, special, unique wedding day from beginning to end, just for you. We work with gay friendly limo services, massage therapists, florists, stylists and excursion companies to ensure you feel comfortable throughout your entire experience with us here at Aloha Maui Dream Weddings.
If you’re visiting Maui with your loved one and a wedding is not on the schedule, I recommend booking a photo shoot with Penny Palmer Photography. This is an opportunity to spend quality time together and have it captured into beautiful art.
It can be formal or informal. The opportunity to wrap your arms around your beloved, kiss and whisper sweet nothings… with Family capturing those memories is remarkable! We know the most secluded areas and help to bring out the fun or the romantic in each of you.
One of our favorite excursions on the island of Maui is to take a morning boating trip with Seafire Charters. We do a lot of private excursions with them for our clients and their public boating adventures are equally amazing. Snorkel out at Molokini, explore Turtle Town and swim with the turtles, feed the sparrows and ask all your whale questions. Enjoy snack and drinks at no extra charge. Their excursion is one of the best whale watching experiences on Maui with their knowledgeable and energetic crew!
However we can help, please let us know. We are here to share our years of experience with each of you. We have founded a lesbian meetup group for any lesbians living or visiting Maui. We welcome you to come enjoy the magic of being gay in Maui!
Aloha!
